Buzz – Last Call for Outdoor Bookings 2024!

It’s been a long old Winter and we’re certainly dreaming of balmy weekends ahead, dressed like Bees!

The good news is that it won’t be long before Buzz is back out on the road, visiting audiences up and down the country with our trademark puppetry, striking set, cracking story and beautiful music.

The good news is that we have a few dates left in our schedule for 2024, so if you are an event, festival, community group, school or anyone else who might like to book the show, drop Matt a line on matt@smokingapplestheatre.com for more information and you can also visit the show page here.

We’ll bee seeing you very soon! (Sorry) 🐝

Organisational Development 2024

If you’re avid followers of SA, you might have spotted that we have recently been awarded ACE funding, to undertake some key organisational development. You also might have spotted that last year, we said we were hoping to be premiering our new show, Three, this Spring and don’t seem to be doing that! Well, you’re not wrong!

Over the past 3 years, we’ve been taking bold and innovative steps with our creative work. We’ve loved exploring new ways of making work, particularly in the fields of working with young people, working with Neurodivergent artists, embedding access and looking at our environmental impact and how we can be more sustainable.

This has been a really exciting time for us but when we were looking at making Three this year, we came to realisation that whilst our art has been developing ten fold, our organisational infrastructure also needed to develop, to support these new creatives processes long term and that we needed to take some time to do this.

So, over the next few months, we’re working with our brilliant producer, Kate, the rest of our fabulous SA family and some wider, objective consultants, to review and re-think our organisational processes and make sure that we can sustain the work we do, into the future.

As always, we’ll keep you updated with our progress (this is very new territory for us) and thanks to ACE and our partners; Little Angel Theatre, London, Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury and Oxford Playhouse, for making it happen.
