Breaking news!
We’re delighted to share some exciting news from the Smoking Apples team: Three, our upcoming production exploring the powerful bonds between grandparents and grandchildren, has received funding from Arts Council England.
This support marks a major milestone for the project, which has been in development since Spring 2023. Three brings together three distinct yet interwoven stories that explore isolation, love, legacy, and diverse British heritage across generations. In a post-pandemic world, where many older people have become an unseen generation, these narratives feel more vital than ever.
Securing Arts Council funding during such a challenging time for the arts is something we are deeply grateful for. It means we can bring Three to life with the creative ambition and care it deserves, supported by a brilliant team of artists, collaborators, and partner venues — more on them soon.
Thank you to everyone who has believed in this project from the start. We can’t wait to share Three with audiences in 2025.
Stay tuned for premiere dates, behind-the-scenes insights, and opportunities to get involved.

Kinder for CentreStage
Last week we were so pleased to take part in NonSuch Studios project – CentreStage – to round up our 2024 tour of Kinder. We took the show to 3 different schools in Nottingham across the 3 days, building and taking down the set each time, and performed the show to 210 students in total with an overwhelmingly positive response. You can find out more about the project on Non Such Studios’ website here.
